Everything is better with butter, as the saying goes. I’m not sure if it’s an actual saying, exactly, but I know I’ve heard it a time or two on The Food Network. Everything is better with butter. That goes for olive oil as well.
I usually use extra virgin olive oil to cook with, but once I found out about Star Butter-flavored Olive Oil, I was quickly on my way to Walmart to pick up a bottle. I also picked up ingredients for the perfect meal to use it with, ground chicken burgers and oven-roasted baby red potato fries.
Now, my oven-roasted baby red potato fries are pretty simple, but my kids love them! And I have to say, the Star Butter Oil added an extra bit of flavor that wasn’t there before. And since everyone seems to be cutting back on gluten these days, it’s also good to know that Star Butter Oil is gluten free.
This recipe for Oven-Roasted Baby Red Potato Fries serves 4. It includes 1 1/2 lbs. of baby red potatoes, half an onion, diced, dried basil, salt and pepper and Star Butter Oil to lightly coat.
Slice up your potatoes into fries and dice the onion, then spread on a baking tray. I like to very lightly coat the bottom of my tray with oil just to keep it from sticking. Sprinkle with basil, salt and pepper. Toss with your fingers to season evenly.
Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes, flipping potatoes halfway through. When they’re lightly browned, they’re done. Though I sometimes get impatient and take them out a bit early.
We also used the Star Butter Olive Oil in our mushroom and onion mixture that I put on top of my ground chicken burger, as well as the chicken burgers themselves. It was a butter oil bonanza! It was a knockout dinner that was also quick and easy. This was already one of my kids’ favorite meals before, but the Star Butter Oil definitely kicked it up a notch! I won’t use anything else on my potatoes anymore, they just won’t be the same any other way. Be sure to check out some other great ideas and recipes on how to use Star Olive Oil in your next meal!
