Today, I’m showing you how to make these fun Mummy Cups repurposed out of plastic water bottles. They’re a fun Halloween craft to store candy in or put a small tea light them to light the way.
I call them Mummy Cups, though you could also easily make them into Ghost Cups. Either way, it’s a great decoration easily made with items you probably already have on hand.
- 16 oz. plastic water bottles
- white ribbon
- white paper towels
- large googly eyes
- small scraps of black paper
First, cut your water bottles in half. Then, cut long strips of your paper towel. I like to use what I have on hand, and that’s what I had on hand. But you could also use bandages or some other kind of cloth. Glue those around the bottle until it’s completely covered.
Take a long strand of white ribbon and wrap it around a few times, too, gluing it in place.
Glue on googly eyes. I ran out of large googly eyes, so I punch a circle of white paper and glued two small googly eyes for our second mummy. Cut a small piece of black paper in a mouth shape and glue it in place, kind of tucking the ends in to and behind the mummy wrap.
Fill with candy or a tea light and you have a fun Halloween decoration that your kids will love!
