Taking inspiration from our Apple Paper Plate Lacing Craft, which is a big hit this time of year, here’s another lacing craft only this time for Halloween! It’s a Mummy Paper Plate Lacing Craft!
For our Mummy Paper Plate Lacing Craft, you’ll need only a few supplies. Most of them white. Which is kinda tricky to photograph, by the way. First, you’ll need white yarn and a sturdy, white paper plate. You’ll also want extra large googly eyes and a black marker to make the mummy’s face. Aside from that, a standard ¼” hole punch and a pair of scissors are all you need.
Then begin wrapping back and forth and across with your yarn. This Mummy Paper Plate Lacing Craft is a great hand/eye coordination activity for the younger set and it’s just a fun mummy craft for Halloween for the older ones.
- sturdy, white paper plate
- white yarn
- extra large googly eyes
- black marker
- small ¼” hole punch
First, begin by making your mummy’s face.
Glue extra large googly eyes in place and draw on a mouth with the marker. This doesn’t have to be precise as it will be covered over with the yarn.
Then, punch holes around the edge of the paper plate. We made ours about every half an inch. To start, cut a long piece of yarn then thread it up through the top holes from the back then back through the corresponding top holes and tie it off in a knot. At that point, begin lacing. Up and through and across and however you want until your mummy is completely bandaged! When you run out of a string of yarn, simply tie it off in back and tie in a new piece.
