Growing up, I was always a big fan of memory games. I’d set out the cards with my mom on the dining table and take great pleasure in remembering where each match was located.
While we have played the older match games, now my kids can take in the same memory that will hold their attention for longer in this modern age. What better way than with an app?
For both Android and iPhone/iPad products, there is a new app that takes that same childhood enthusiasm and puts it in our hands. It’s called ZOOSNAP, and it’s all about matching our favorite animals we see at the zoo.
This app was originally inspired by children with disabilities, which is what drew me in. But it’s really an easy and educational memory game for everyone. What’s amazing is how it requires your child’s full concentration, and helps train their brain as you’re having fun playing together.
The cards make the corresponding animal sounds as each is revealed. You also get an instant ding! when you make a correct match. And that’s such a great sound!
Both Buzz, my 7 year old son who has autism himself, and my 4 year old daughter couldn’t get enough of ZOOSNAP. “Hey, I got one!”, Abby exclaimed after every match. It was a game they could challenge each other on, of who could match the fastest! It’s a simple concept, but those always seem to be the best.
I have been compensated for my time in reviewing this app. Opinions are mine.
